January STL Drop, Crit Fail PDF and more!

Greetings adventurers,

We are back with the January STL drop, the Critical Fail 5E rules supplement and some other exciting project updates.   First, let's start off with all of the cool models that are in the January drop.

January STL Drop 

What you will find in the January drop:

• Sprites of the Oschillion
• Quaglings
• Groth
• Satyrs
• Astra the corrupted unicorn
• Hildur the storm dragon
• Dust Devil Tornado (support free)

Hildur is a special dragon that is unique to our campaign.  Imagine a blue dragon crossed with a bronze dragon.  If you want to print Hildur at full size you will probably want to use an FDM printer, although all pieces were designed to fit on larger format SLA printers like the Mono X or Saturn. 

As a reminder,  all of the models shown above and all of the models from previous updates should be available to you when you login to BackerKit and click the "Digital Downloads" tab under our project.

Critical Fail: 5E Rules Supplement PDF

We are excited to release the first version of our Critical Fail: 5E Rules Supplement PDF and it is now available for download on BackerKit to all backers who purchased this as an add on or received it as a first 48 Hour reward.  We are really excited with how this turned out and the original artwork that Devin created for the book really captures the spirit of the rules.  We are going to put this first version out to our backers and collect any feedback you all have on it before going to press with the print version of this book.  We expect to print the first edition of this mini book in about a month and begin mailing to backers that purchased the print upgrade at that time.

Timeline Update - Adventure Book, Battle Maps

Both of us working on the project have had life throw a number of curve balls our way over the last few months from serious sickness to personal issues.  This has slowed down our progress more than we would have liked, but we are making good progress as of late.  Ultimately we decided to focus our efforts on the 3D models over the last few months and are on track to deliver all of the character and terrain models with the original timeline.  This will allow us to ensure that what we deliver to you is of a quality we can be proud of rather than rushing out the end product.

By focusing on the models we have had to put the book and battle maps on the back burner for a time which will unfortunately delay them.  At this point we expect these items to be delayed by at least 3 months from their original estimated delivery dates.   As we start nearing the end of delivering the 3D models we will come up with a more detailed schedule for these rewards.  We are continuing to work on the adventure book and battle maps with play test groups in the meantime.

December STL Drop

BugFixes: Also fixed an issue on the MotherHead STL file there was a tiny head at the base that snuck in and is now removed! (Thanks Amber!)

What's next?

We are still on track to have all the character/monster minis files done by February 2022 and will be quickly shifting onto all the lovely terrain models! The Critical Fail rules supplement book was supposed to be ready in December, but we had to delay it due a bout of illness on the team.  We should have it wrapped up by the end of January, it just needs a bit of polish and some finishing touches at this point.  Our play test groups for the story and adventure book are still going strong and we are still on track to deliver the book in Spring 2022!   Also the amazing Gary Laib is working on some additional artwork for us as well! Here is a sneak peak at a few of the new pieces!

November STL Drop

Howdy adventurers,

We hope you are all having a lovely holiday season.  We had a little too much turkey over here and are just now recovering.  We are really excited about the models we have ready to share from the November drop.  Here are the new files you will find in BackerKit.

Also....

We did an update to the October STL drop and fixed a few issues with Mother and Tribe Ooloap that were there that is documented in the readme files!  Make sure you are using version 2 of these files.

What's next?

We are hoping to have all of the character/monster mini files delivered by February 2022.  At that point the focus will shift to terrain.  We are still on track to deliver all models files in Spring 2022.  For anyone that ordered the Critical Fail rules supplement, we are expecting to deliver that in late December.  We have been making a lot of progress on the story and adventure book with our play test groups.  At present we are still on track to deliver the book in Spring 2022 as planned.

First STL files have arrived!

Hey everyone, we are incredibly excited to share that we are ready to deliver our first batch of models from the project!  We also have a very special surprise in store in this update.  First off, we wanted to introduce you to "mother"...

If the original sand worm wasn't big enough for you, we have a special treat for you with "mother".  She is a special bonus terrain piece we created 

What we are delivering in the October drop:

• Sand Worms - the iconic sand worm and "mother". (1 mini, 1 terrain)
• Tribe Ooloap - Complete set of tribe Ooloap minis. (6 minis, 3 print support free)
• Flying platform STLs - Easy to print support free on FDM printers. Elevate your game.

Fulfillment

All model files will be delivered via BackerKit.  You will need to complete your survey before you are able to access and download the files.  If you haven't received it already, you should receive an email from BackerKit with a link to login and download the files.  Be sure to check your promotions/junk folder if you don't see it.

We can't wait to deliver more models next month!
